About the event
October 27 at 16.00 at V.P. Sukachev (December Events st., 112) opens an exhibition of Buryat culture OLZO, dedicated to the Year of the cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia and the 85th anniversary of the Irkutsk region. The exposition is organized jointly with the Center for the Culture of the Indigenous Peoples of the Baikal Region and includes paintings, drawings, photographs, traditional sculptures, clay and wooden toys, ancient costumes and household items of the Buryats.
"Olzo" in translation from Buryat means "find". The idea of the exhibition is that each viewer can find a timeless connection between the past and the present, the present and the future, as well as reveal the deep meaning of the people's love for their native land and culture.
Masters from different regions of the Ust-Ordynsky Buryat district (Bayandaevsky, Osinsky, Alarsky, Bokhansky, Nukutsky), as well as the Olkhonsky district of the Irkutsk region, presented their works. Here you can see the work of the folk master of the Irkutsk region Evgeny Mirsky; famous Irkutsk sculptor Arkady Bairov; master ceramist, laureate of international and all-Russian plein-airs Sergey Bunaev. Also in the exposition are the scenery for the play "Legends of Baikal", created by students of correctional school No. 10 in the city of Irkutsk. The performance itself can be seen on November 4 at the "Night of the Arts" at the site of the Manor.
The Olzo exhibition will run at V.P. Sukachev (st. December Events, 112) until January 1, 2023. Phone for inquiries and appointments for excursions: 53-12-24. The exposition is available on the "Pushkin map".
